On 21st of March 2026, The American Business Council partnered with Spelling Bee Nigeria for the 2nd Scripps Spelling Bee where 110 finalists from 18 schools across 4 states showcased their language mastery, with Newton and Amir emerging as national winners. The duo will represent Nigeria at the global competition in the US. The event featured goodwill remarks from the U.S. Consul. General, Rick Swart and his wife as well as Lai Koiki, Executive Director of Greensprings School, with support from the Rotary Club, while the CEO of the Council shared a written goodwill message. The American Business Council Secretariat assisted with result collation, ensuring a smooth outcome. This event highlights Nigeria’s bright young minds and the importance of education and youth development. We congratulate the winners and participants on their achievements, celebrating the growth of this initiative promoting literacy and excellence.
