
On the 17th of February 2026, the American Business Council Nigeria hosted its first Economic Update at Pier Harbour, Victoria Island. The session convened over 100 business leaders, diplomats, and policy stakeholders to examine Nigeria’s reform momentum, trade alignment, and investor confidence in a shifting global economy. Olusegun Zaccheaus, Chief Economist, PwC, delivered the keynote address. The first panel, which included Zeal Akaraiwe, Dapo Olagunju, Steve Iwenjora, and Seyi Ashade, moderated by Esiri Agbeyi, focused on the Impact of Nigeria’s Expansion Agenda on Investment Decisions, while the second panel, with C.K Nwagwu – DCG Trade and Tariff NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE, Asif Khan of Cummins Inc, Wole Abu, Managing Director Equinix, and moderated by Emeka Chime, focused on competing in a Rewired Global Trade System Positioning Nigeria as a Strategic Trade and Investment Hub.
